Any child, from birth to “catechetical age” [five (5) years old] can be presented by their parents for Infant Baptism.
Any child, six (6) years of age and older, should receive religious education, and prepare for their baptism through Christian Initiation of Children (CIC).

Parents' Baptismal Certificate
At least one (1) parent needs to be a baptized Catholic to baptize their child into the faith. We require a copy of their Certificate of Baptism (one or both parents).

Godparent Information
Canon 873: There is to be only one male godparent or one female godparent or one of each.
The following are the requirements in order for a Catholic to be a godparent (canon 874, s1):
- at least 16 years of age
- he/she has been fully initiated in the Catholic Church (received Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation)
- in good standing with the Catholic Church: live a life of faith which befits the role to be undertaken; not under canonical penalty
- not the father or mother of the one to be baptized.

To obtain a copy of the updated baptism certificate, the god parents just have to call the church they were baptized at and they can get you an updated copy! The Updated Baptismal Certificate shows all the sacraments received (except for First Holy Communion).

Christian Witness Information
It is not necessary to have a Christian witness. You may have a Christian witness ONLY with a Catholic godparent, NOT two godparents and a Christian witness.
